Time passed quickly, and honestly, Chikaran had learned as much as she physically could in the time alotted to her. She'd grown quite a bit, the eighteen year old now a woman with her own way of seeing and doing things. Had it truly been only a month since she had come here? It didn't feel as though it had been that short, but here she was, yet again with her nose in another book, sitting at a table off to the side on the beach, doing her best to stay out of everyone's way while she looked over the book from atop her perch on a boulder that she had settled a blanket on.
'Chikaran, look this over closely. Do you see here in this picture how the bones mended this way? The healing was bad..but worse, look at the striations between the muscles as a result..what do you think would happen? No, no, answer this after you've read what's here.'
"Alright..."
Well, go figure. Here she was now, trying to read it, attempting to look beyond the normal, and it was difficult. She knew she had seen the obvious, but her master wanted her to look beyond it and give him a full explanation behind the set of wounds and procedures he'd talk to her about that day. Considering she wasn't needed to look in on any ladies at the moment, why not take advantage of it? Sipping lightly on some Klah in the canteen she had brought with her, she glanced up at the sea and grinned.
A bronze firelizard peeped in fascination, bobbing his head as it stared between both the book and herself from where it sat against her leg. Bobbing his head a little, he peeped again, flapping his wings before settling them. Chikaran's lips quirked, "Well, I'd ask you, Tredder..but I don't think you understand what's here. But I do wish my brother were about, we could debate about it, get angry, move on and finally have the answer, eh?"
Tredder peeped again and Chika laughed, shaking her head. No, a firelizard couldn't compare to human association, but it definitely went a long way to making her feel better and feeling like the area was a little more bearable to sit down and be in. Life was strange that way, after all.
