While there are few small weyrs at the top of the cliff, most of the rooms are inside the complex. The humans have their own caverns, but they are often small and without outside entrances. Dragons sleep outside, which they seem to prefer.

The Weyrwoman's weyr is connected to both the Council Room and the Hatching Sands by two different tunnels. It is also one of the few weyrs that has a cliff entrance and a large inner room. There is also a smaller outer room that connects to the corridor that runs through the rest of the weyr.

The Council Room is just a short walk up actual wooden stairs from the Dining Cavern. A long table resides in the center of the room, with several chairs pushed up to it. Light streams in from several openings high in the wall, while the walls are covered in tapestries, old Thread Charts, a map of Pern, and bookshelves covered in books and old Records. A door leads off to the Weyrwoman's office, which is also the Records Room, and another entrance from a nearby corridor.
