He never thought walking to the beach would be such a long walk and he could feel millions of eyes on him as he helped Mirrium and her newly Impressed green towards the beach and the waiting ship. He could the noises of herdbeasts and the sailors rising off teh wind as he set foot on the docks. He knew Hallek was watching him just as he knew there were spies on Hallek's ship, but he had a spy of his own as well. He was counting on the man to help Mirrium get to safety, it was all that he could do. Southern could not afford T'ran's death now, not with Gimna sick and Hallek posed to take over the Weyr. And if he did not put Mirrium on this ship his days would be numbered.
"Mirrium listen to me", he said softly, pausing on the deck. "There is a man on the ship, named Jorin", he told her, the spray of ocean water whipping into his skin like sand dug into a cut. "When they release you at the island his flitt is going to find Jorin's sister in Northern Weyr. She'll come get you", he explained. Jorin sister's was just a drudge but if she could get another rider to at least look for Mirrium. "There is also a bag of clothes, weapons and food for you. Try to stretch the beasts out as long as you can. There is enough for Mirrideth to survive two sevendays if you are frugal and supplement with fish", he added, one of the sailors was waving to him impatiently.
"I am truly sorry for this", he added.

She was still putting on an act of total and complete calmness. She would not cry until she was out of earshot from everyone. She watched her green trot along beside her as if there was nothing wrong. She would then have to explain why they were leaving her brothers and sisters behind.
She had stopped besides him as she listened to what he had to say. She smiled slightly knowing this was hard for him as well. "I will do that T'ran. She bit her bottom lip thinking carefully on how to word her thoughts that she was going to say. "T'ran if things change and you need back up or what not send for me and I will try to get to you." She knew those were brave words but she thought that he needed to know that he was not alone.
"I am sorry as well" She stated quietly as she looked up at him and smiled weakly. "It is not your fault about what is going on nor do i think you can change it at the moment. I hope in time that will change for us both and for the better of the weyr." She said wisely before she looked down at Mirrideth and petted her hungry companion.
"MirriumMine I am hungry and why are you sad?" the green asked as she butted up against her bonded. Her head tilted up at the man. "If you are the one making her sad I will not be happy with you" the green said with her eyes starting to change a different color.
Mirrium couldn't help but laugh. She leaned down to hug the green. "No he is not making me sad" the girl said softly as she tried to reassure Mirrideth. She rubbed the little green's eye ridges as she looked at her weyrleader. No she corrected herself her old weyrleader she was to get a new one as soon as the north found her. She shuddered at the thought of being there.

What else could he say? He'd said his apologies, explained things to her, set up a chian of events that would, hopefully, see her safe to the north if not the Weyr itself. It was the best he could do not knowing if the rumors were indeed fact or not. "Just be careful", he replied as Jorin walked up the deck towards them. "This the girl?", he asked the Weyrleader. "Yes", T'ran replied handing Jorin a small leather bag.
"Well come on lass, we've got to get you situated before the tide runs out. Lord Hallek will have all our heads if we miss that tide", Jorin said softly. "You will be alright in the North. With the firelizard and such you'll be able to take care of yourself and", he glanced back towards the Sands. "Watch Lord Telgar. The Harpers have very little nice things to say about him", he added, "And being a Southern bred rider he may take an interest in you". He stepped off teh dock and started back towards the beach, turning once to watch them.
"Come on miss, the sooner we get your Hatchling on the ship", Jorin left it hanging.

Mirrium nodded to the man solemnly "I will". She petted her firelizard and her newly bonded dragon before walking up the plank to go on board the ship. She would get revenge on the true person behind all of this. She shouldn't have to be sent away it was wrong and she knew it. She glanced back at the weyrleader after she was on the boat. Her eyes looked along the beaches and the weyr itself. It would be the last time she would see it for a while.
Mirrideth trotted after her bonded with her head held high"Where are we going mine? Is it some place warm?" Mirrideth asked before her stomach growled. "When am I to get fed mine?" the small green whined to her bonded.
Mirrium sighed and and looked down at Mirrideth. "I am not sure where we are going and if it will be warm or not you will get fed in a second but not before we find out where we are to allow you to sleep." the girl said allowed not sure she wanted to look like a fool or not by trying to talk in her head. she still wasn't sure how that worked.
