I've traveled this world all over, And now to another I go... Flyaway hair whipped against Taelyn's face, like a thousand tiny lashes licking against her skin, but she paid it no mind, leaping up a haphazard pile of discarded packaging, boxes and half-rotted hay, with a few swift hops at the end of a vaulting run, and flinging herself into the air. Her hand hooked around the top of the wall, and she kicked off the topmost box, sending the wood tumbling down to the ground with a resounding crash. As she flipped over the top of the wall, she glanced back to see the splintered wood that marked where the box had fallen, and winced inwardly. Oops... Well, at least it wasn't anything valuable. She it the ground with a soft whump and a swell of dust that showered over her, but she hardly noticed, moving almost immediately after she felt solid ground under her feet again. These roads and alleys, crevices and roofs, like the back of her own hand. It was what made her such a good messenger, and messages like this, where time was of the essence, almost always came to her. There was no one better. There was a certain pride she took in that, but unfortunately, it also meant that by the time she made it back to her bed that night, she would be ready to collapse with exhaustion. Whipping around a corner and shooting down the main thoroughfare, Taelyn danced from one side of the road to the other, dodging around passers-by and carts, animals and groups of chattering groups of students. Abruptly, she skittered to a halt before the main gate out of the College. The man who had given her the message that lay tucked into her pocket had told her to look for a tall girl with brown hair, clad in Harper blue and looking like she was lost in her own world. Pulling herself swiftly up onto a low, decorative wall, Taelyn craned her head this way and that until she spotted someone meeting that description, then hopped down and skittered over to her. "Taliene?" she inquired breathlessly.

The day was bright and young...man that sounded like an absolute cliche. Taliene pursed her lips as she shifted through the other various students, her thoughts elsewhere once again. Her teachers had joked with her about her being such a space case at times, but being a contemplative soul, she really couldn't help herself. It was just the type of person she was...and oh, was that the smell of rolls in the oven? Berry pies? Taliene shook her her head, raising a hand to the side of her face with a sigh before she brought her thoughts back to where she was trying to be before. Journeywoman. Seven long, long years of study, but she had finally made it and she was proud. The woman reached back and began to braid her hair, deftly tying it off so that it didn't get too mussed in the wind. Thank the gods that she had made her rank! It was so thrilling, she just knew she'd write a song about it later. Glancing about for a place to sit, she quickly walked, perching on a wall off to the side of the hustle and bustle. She was to be stationed today, it was rather nerve wracking. The post itself caused her some worry, she'd been told about it today. The weyr...Just when she had managed to earn her way here, she now had to go fight to be seen elsewhere as well. She supposed that it was really part of the trade, but it wasn't exactaly what she had intended for herself so soon after she had gotten her knots. Lifting her gaze up to the sky, she nibbled on her bottom lip. Just what HAD she intended...now that was a good question. In truth, she had no idea, so perhaps the Weyr was as good a place as any. "Taliene?" A breathless voice asked, startling the woman from her reverie. She jolted out of it, lifting her grey eyes to the woman who was standing over her. "Yes, I'm Taliene...is something the matter?" She began to rise, the woman before her out of breath to the point where she felt she had to do something about it, "You ok? Want something to drink?"

(Uugh, i'm sorry this post is so awful... ;.; )
Without any Weyrlings to train, F’rir didn’t have much to do aside from lay around and sleep with as many women as were willing to sleep with him while Aeyth sunned on his ledge. He was just finishing up with his current prospect when the messenger arrived, spluttering red faced as the young(naked) Bronzerider took the message from him before shooing him out. “Shardit, Aeyth, we’ve got to go pick up a harper girl from the college.” He groaned as he flopped back on the bed next to his girl.
“And that’s a bad thing?” She snorted, pulling the covers up a bit.
“Only because that means I actually have to get dressed.” Fen groaned as he pulled a shirt on, then a pair of pants. In the meantime, Aeyth was rousing from his nap, thrumming happily when the girl got up to come scratch his eyeridge while His preened. He liked this girl and hoped that His would bring her back again sometime. She knew JUST where to scratch.
Fen rolled his eyes as he tossed the straps onto the Bronze’s back. “Come on, you brute, let’s go.” He joked, flinching as the dragon snorted at him. Snorting back, he looked at the girl, telling her, “You can stay if you want, but I don’t know how long I’ll be gone.”
“I’ll stay.” She shrugged as she watched him mount, frowning when they were gone a moment later as she blinked. “Shardit, that always happens…”
Black, blacker, blackest… In no time the pair were circling over the college, circling lower and lower. We’re looking for a girl named… Taliene. Fen said, trying to sound as professional as he wasn’t. A girl named Taliene, correct? ONE girl? Aeyth asked in amusement, causing Fen to turn bright red even as the Bronze landed.
“Yeah, yeah…” He muttered, dismounting quickly to try and save face but only succeeded in confusing himself. How in Faranth’s name was he going to find one girl amongst all these people?

"I'm fine," Taelyn replied, drawing a deep breath and straightening. Adjusting the white, formally cut tunic she wore, she lifted her chin, squared her shoulders, set herself properly, and spun around, blinking up at the bronze descending on the college, one arm lifted to shield her eyes. Her formal bearing was shattered already, so she indulged herself a moment to observe the bronze's landing and his rider's dismount altogether nearer to them than she particularly liked with a somber eye. That would no doubt be the girl's ride. The man who had given her the message had stressed haste because a dragonman would be coming for the recipient, and the note had to be received before the rider arrived. To merit a bronze for transport, however ... who was this girl? Turning swiftly back, she adjusted once more, restoring her formal bearing, and lifted her voice. In calm, clear tones designed to convey a sense of easy confidence and be easily heard even in the crowded bustle of the college, she declared, "Taliene, journeywoman Harper of Benden College, I come bearing a message from Master Harper Valerin for you." Reaching into the fabric band around her waist, doubling as both a belt and a single massive pocket, Taelyn withdrew the rolled bit of hide, carefully folded so as not to smear the ink that had been used to inscribe it, and offered it somberly to the young Harper-girl.

Taliene's normally dreamy gaze stared straight at Taelyn, her eyes focused and straight on the woman before her. She was leaning up, holding a slightly hand out toward her as she had made her offer before she blinked, watching the girl turn to gawk at something in the sky. Lifting her head up, she started. A bronze dragon?! What in the world..who would get a dragon like that! Far as she knew, she was the only one being stationed that day, and she was a new journeywoman at that! Well, shaking it off and placing her surprise behind an unmoving face, she shifted to look at the woman who turned to face her once more. Reaching up to push hair from her face, she shrugged it off. She'd find out soon enough, and regardless, if it was for her, then she'd deal with it at that time. Currently, there was something else requiring her attention, and it involved a note being handed to her. She glanced back up at the girl before gripping the rolled hide in her hand gently, smiling softly, "From Master Valerin? Well now, why would he write me all of a sudden. Thank you." Taliene, As this note reaches you, I know that you'll be preparing to be sent off on some grand adventure that only you will find the ending too. The stars, the books, the records and histories all have given you as much as possible, so go learn as much as you can from people and things. Dream of new things, learn of beautiful days and horrid nights, and write those songs you love to your hearts content. Good luck, young lady. Write often. I'm praying for the best of things for you. ValerinTaliene blinked at the note in surprise, feeling a tear spring to her eye as she smiles softly, rubbing her eye a bit before she was jolted back to the world. In truth, it had been but a few moments, and she looked up at Taelyn and smiled, "Thank you for delivering this so promptly. Judging by the hasty scrawls on it, he'd just finished writing it when you came for it, eh? Well..If I might ask of you to deliver a small message for me in turn, I'd truly, truly appreciate it." Taliene folded the hide as gently as she could, setting it within her belt pouch like a piece of treasure before pulling a pad out from her belt. Pulling a pen from it, she quickly scrawled a note, signed it, and blew on the ink to help it dry. Soon as she had done that, she tore it off and handed it to the woman, "This is for Master Valerin, the man who sent you to me with the note to begin with. Would you be so kind as to deliver this back to him? There is no rush, so you don't have to scramble to him...but..oh, here. Because I know this has to be a pain.." Taliene dug into her pouch, biting her lip before nodding and pulling out a small mark piece and handing it to the girl, "It's not much, but at least I hope it covers the running back and forth. Thank you, I truly appreciate it."
