R'lyn limped into the room that had gone silent with his presence. He could see that Siten was not there yet though he had requested her presence at the meeting, still she must not be far behind. "Don't Stand", he said softly, holding a hand up. Only the older riders had made to stand, his new wingleaders hadn't. Caught in the lapse of etiquette they looked embarassed to each other. "Lord Holder", R'lyn bowed his head to Lidal before marching to his seat at the head of the table.
"I am glad you could be here today, for I have some news to share with you. I will however wait for Siten to show up, as it concerns her as well". Riders looked at each other in apprehension and excitement. What could the news be?

Siten had been a lesson prior to the meeting. As it was, she had had to leave early, but every minute of training was one more minute in which she would gain a bit of critical knowledge to aid in running her Weyr as efficiently and effectively as possible. Given the nature of the meeting, she was glum to admit, she not only had to leave the lesson early enough to make the meeting, but to see herself presentable, as well, a task which she particularly hated. Still, necessities were, after all, necessities, and she saw it done and arrived bare heartbeats after R'lyn concluded the statement of his intention to wait.
Just inside, she paused briefly, taking a moment to acknowledge all attendees, before moving to take her seat. She considered, briefly, apologizing for her tardiness, but it wasn't as though she was more than a few heartbeats late, after all, and anyhow, she could hardly see where that would strengthen her psotion, so, instead, she held her peace, hooking her ankles under her chair and resting her palms in her lap, back straight and chin held just a little proudly. She tilted her head toward R'lyn, waiting for him to speak. It was, after all, his show.

"Welcome Weyrwoman", R'lyn said as Siten came in and sat down. "The Weyrwoman has brought to my attention the fact that Isiloth will not rise for another two and a half turns, which is two and half turns longer than we have to spare. We were severely outnumbed when the North attacked recently", he began his argument. "They are learning how to manuver around the weapons of the Hold and soon they will have no effect. We can't strike there because we would be outnumbered and they are on guard now".
He paused for a moment, glancing at those riders who had stolen the eight eggs, it was there fault a Northern strike was inadvisable. "Siten has suggested that we allow her to go between times as soon as Isiloth is capable", there was silence. "I am inclined to agree. Isiloth is already able to between she just lacks flight ability. By the time she is half a turn old she will have that ability and more. If sent with older, capable riders they will do fine and then they can re-emerge in a few days time, older and ready for a Flight". Flight. The magic word, once again the Weyrleadership would be open. Who would win?

H'dan blinked, shocked by the proposal. Taking the Weyrwoman and others between times? It was... it was... Brilliant. Absolutely sharding brilliant. It would be two extra turns for those who went, but two turns in safety that would feel like mere days to those staying behind. They could then catch up on the North, quickly increase their numbers... Needless to say, the Bronzerider was excited. This was the kind of thing he'd been waiting for to set his plans into motion. If things went his way, Lidal wouldn't be the over Holder much longer. There was a big IF in his plans, though, which involved Marth catching Isiloth. The Bronze had flown Greens before, more out of boredom than anything, but this was a whole different game.
Don't worry, Mine. Marth said, sounding rather confident. I will do my best.
He couldn't help but grin in amusement at the Bronze's assurances. He hadn't said he would win, which would have been rather cocky of him. He knew just as well as his Bronze did that the Queen chose her mate, not the other way around. Still, going on this expedition would be good.
"If I may." H'dan stated as he stood, nodding at R'lyn. "I would like to volunteer myself and Marth to go with this expedition."
(If you want me to change that last part, tell me in a PM since I can't use the Cbox here at school.)

R'lyn smiled at one of his wingleaders, H'dan, "I hadn't asked for volunteers but I appreciate the gesture", he said with a tone of gentle chatisement. "I will send half a wing back in time with Siten as well as the current Weyrlings. She will be returning before Isiloth flies so sending bronzes back in time is pointless but they will still go", he settled into his chair with a soft sigh and leaned forward.
"Isiloth will go between to a point some forty turns ago and remain there for two turns and a few months. She will return on the same day she leaves but an hour later and two turns older. Hopefully we will succeed in this venture, for the hope of our Weyr rests on Isiloth and Siten's shoulders. Now outside of H'dan, who else is willing to go?". R'lyn cast his blue eyes around the room looking for volunteers.

D'mon had been apprehensive the moment that wingleaders had been called to the Council Room. Was there to be another battle? Retaliation and revenge? He was eager to see just what was so important that the Overholder had attended.
With a plastic grin stretched on his face he watched the proceedings, taking everything in and being polite to the others. He had been among the few that stood,as D'mon had known and followed the Leader for years. He almost snorted at the younger ones.Didn't they know that showing their real feelings could ruin an entire plan?
Disgusted at the lack of ambition in these wayward youngsters, the bronze rider hid his face as he sat down, once again schooling his expression. When he looked up again, his face was all smiles, polite and interested as he waited for the Gold rider to show up.He almost sighed in relief as the Weyrwoman came in and the meeting started.
He was so blindsided by the Weyrleader's announcement of going back in time,he didn't react as quick as he should have. That dratted H'dan had volunteered first. The goateed bronze rider gritted his teeth and waited for an appropriate interjection before he too raised his hand and volunteered.
"I volunteer to go on this journey as well Weyrleader."
This was a great opportunity to get Siten to himself. The more she talked to him,the more of a chance he had at winning the Flight of Isiloth. His eyes brightened eagerly and he leaned forward, awaiting the Leader's permission

It did not surprise R'lyn that D'mon opened his mouth to volunteer next. The bronzerider was a dangerous man. He hadn't missed him standing when R'lyn entered, the man could walk a very fine line between outer respect and inner disdain. R'lyn did not care for him, not one bit, but he could not deny him the chance to go. "Very well. Anyone else?".
Down the table, directly across from D'mon a bronzerider raised his hand. "F'shr?", R'lyn asked. This particular rider was not only his wingsecond but his son, and R"lyn had never been prouder of any other creature, dragon or human. "Sir, I will stay behind", he said calmly, casting an assured glance over to D'mon. Maiden golds were finicky flyers, the records said, they never chose the obvious choice in their first flight.
