Standing by the anvil, Murtur waited as his dad finished the last bit of his order. Finishing up he would look up at Murtur and began to speak. "I need you to deliver this to the man that ordered it. Everything you need to know about him is on this paper." Walking over to a table in the corner of the room Vrael, Murtur's dad, would pick up a piece of paper. "After you deliver this you can do whatever you want." 'Well, this simple enough.' Murtur thought to himself as he took the weapon and note from his dad. The note had one thing on it.. directions to the house. 'Well... That sure was alot of information on this guy... Whatever.'
Leaving his house as he was told in order to deliver the package, Murtur would stop by the kitchen to pick up Azure, his blue flitt, who had hatched only two weeks ago. Murtur would send him an image of him handing a package to some man in order to let Azure know what Murtur was about to do. The blue flitt would fly across the kitchen and land on Murtur's shoulder. Making his way out of the house, Murtur would take a quick glance at the paper while Azure switched shoulders so he could too look at the paper. Memorizing the path to the man's house, Murtur would dash to that direction dropping the paper on the way. After about a few minutes Murtur stopped as he tried to remember which way to go. Not remembering Murtur would look for his paper without success. "Damn it. Now this is gonna take forever." Azure could feel the frustration as Murtur sent the feeling to Azure without meaning too. Azure would make a simple reply by showing Murtur an image of the map. "Seems it was a good idea to bring you along Azure." Murtur would take out a small piece of meat and feed it to the flitt. Now getting back on track, Murtur would continue to the man's house. The faster he got this done the faster he could look for his friends or anyone that seemed interesting.
After a few minutes of running, Murtur was at the house. It was much bigger than he had expected it to be. Walking up to the door Azure would hide under Murtur's hair as they saw a dragon take off from near the area of the house startling both of them. Making their way to the door, Murtur would hold up his hand as he was about to knock. Before his hand could reach the door the door would fly open to reveal a man around his forties. "Is that for me? I take it your Vrael's son." Extending out his hands, the man would wait for Murtur to hand him over the weapon. "Yes I am sir." With that Murtur would hand the man the weapon and take off as the man returned in his home and shut the door.
Now that he was free from his job, Murtur would take his time walking back home. Once he got to a busier part of the hold, Murtur began to see more people he recognized but didn't really spend time with. While Murtur looked one way, Azure would look the other way as they both knew what Murtur was looking for. A friend, something or someone out of the ordinary. something of importance, and/or a good looking girl.

Why are we going to hold Lidal, Mine?[/i] Marth asked curiously as he lounged about on his weyrledge. This was an interesting development, very interesting indeed considering the hatred His held for the Over Holder. I thought you didn’t like them.
“I don’t.” H’dan grunted as he hefted Marth’s saddle over his shoulder. While the material in itself was light, Marth was a big dragon, thus his gear was heavy. VERY heavy. “However, since you destroyed my last sword, I need a new one, and the place to go is Lidal.” Marth snorted in amusement and he rolled his eyes. “So, you are the reason I have to go to the one place on Pern I hate more than anything.”
Even the North?[/i] Marth asked as he crawled over and crouched to allow H’dan to saddle him.
H’dan nodded. “Even the North, though they aren’t close behind.” He muttered as he tightened the straps around his Bronze’s belly. He heard Marth chuckle, but ignored it. After all, it was the dragon’s fault that they had to go. He needed a sword and couldn’t wait for someone else to send in the order for him. He needed a weapon now and wasn’t going to settle for a practice sword, either. “Come on, you.” He coaxed as he pulled himself onto Marth’s neck.” The faster we get to Lidal and order my sword the sooner you get to come back and sun yourself.”
But the sun could be gone by the time we get back![/i] Marth protested as he hauled himself to his feet and crawled to the weyrledge. Despite his protesting, he opened his wings and launched himself into the air, hanging in space for a moment before driving his wings down, sending his lithe form rocketing into the sky. The even pulse of his wingbeats was heard for a few more moments until he blinked between to Hold Lidal.
Are you happy now?[/i] The Bronze asked sourly as he appeared in the sky over the Hold, circling to land in the courtyard once a spot was cleared for him. Even if Lidal controlled the Weyr, the dragons still intimidated the general populace, especially one as gorgeous as him.
“Quit flattering yourself.” H’dan rolled his eyes as he dismounted along Marth’s good foreleg. He didn’t dare use the crippled one for fear of causing more damage. “Now, to find the smith… You there, boy!” He called, pointing to Murtur. “Where can I find a smith to forge me a first class blade?” He asked, looking at the boy gravely.

Murtur and his little buddy Azure would continue to walk as people began to clear a big space in the middle of the road and begin to look up into the sky. Murtur would keep walking as he didn't pay much attention to all the people. Murtur finally froze once he heard something land with a thud. Turning around Murtur would see an amazing Bronze dragon and his Rider. Murtur would make his way to the front of the group of people getting much closer than he had been previously. "You want to be that big Azure?" Murtur would ask Azure as he sent a picture of the Bronze Dragon to Azure. A small chuckle would escape the young boy as he imagined the size difference between the two.
'Though Lidal has control over this area, the Dragons and their Riders seem to have a domineering nature about them. It's like the people do what they want without them even saying anything, but then again who wouldn't? They are awesome! xD' Murtur thought to himself as an image if the Rider falling of his dragon and to the ground appeared in his mind. Snapping out of his train of thought, Murtur would like down at his shoulder and stare at Azure. "Thanks Azure." Since he knew it was Azure thought had let him know the Rider had come off his amazing Bronze Dragon. The Rider looked as though he knew exactly what he was looking for and Murtur was soon to find out what it was.
"You there, boy!” Yelled out the Rider as he pointed to Murtur. Murtur quickly snapped back to attention from the Rider speaking to him. Azure would quickly take refuge in Murtur's hair as Azure stuck out his head to see what would happen. “Where can I find a smith to forge me a first class blade?” continued the Rider. 'Oh... That's an easy question.' Murtur thought to himself. "My father can forge it for you, sir. If you would like I could show you the way." Murtur would wait for the answer excitedly. 'My dad helping a Rider? This is great!' Popping out of his hiding spot, Azure would once again take his post on Murtur's shoulder as they now both waited on the answer of the Rider.

“That would be rather helpful.” H’dan replied, noting the boy’s enthusiasm in amusement. Every young boy still wanted to Impress even despite the danger of the battles they would face and the diminished power the Werys, or at least the Southern Weyr, held. He was hoping to change that in the near future, but he had business to attend to first, namely a new blade.
Why would they not want to Impress after seeing me? Marth chimed impatiently, flicking his tail. Of course, he was the most brilliant colored dragon out there, maybe only second to young Isiloth and strong to boot.
Your leg. H’dan replied grimly. He didn’t mean it in insult at all, no. The scars were there as a reminder that the battles weren’t as glorious as stories and songs made them sound. It was a nasty job that could cost you limbs and even your life.
Turning his attention back to Murtur, he said, “Go ahead and start walking, I’ll follow.” He didn’t want the boy to lose interest and leave him to find his way around this blasted place by himself. You can go sun yourself while it lasts. He told Marth quickly before starting off after the boy.
Alright. The Bronze replied as he padded after His. He looked rather absurd, following after his Rider with a strange hopping limp, favoring his scarred foreleg. He wasn’t letting that slow him down, though he had to wait for space to walk. Couldn’t go around crushing people, now could he?
Cocking a brow, H’dan glanced over his shoulder at the dragon. Where are you going?
After you.[/i] Marth replied cryptically, though his gaze was trained on Murtur. I like him. The flitter annoys me, though.[/i]
He hasn’t done anything to you. H’dan snorted in reply, though he couldn’t help but groan mentally. He was here for a sword, not to search for new candidates for a nonexistent clutch! If he knew Marth, though, there was a good chance that’s what he was going at. Faranth…

“That would be rather helpful.” The rider replied to Murtur. "Yes sir. It's not too far away this way." With a smile, Murtur would begin his walk. It seemed to Murtur that the rider would be following him on foot instead of on his dragon. Murtur wouldn't walk too fast so that he wouldn't lose the rider on the walk there. After a few seconds of walking Murtur could hear a thud following behind him. Turning around for a second, Murtur saw that the dragon was following them. 'Oh snap! The dragon is coming too? Why is he walking? That's pretty funny.' A small chuckle would come from the boy as he continued to walk. Azure would turn around watching the great bronze from his perch on Murtur's shoulder. A high pitched chirp would escape Azure as he continued to stare at the bronze. "What's wrong Azure? You okay?" Murtur would send calming pictures as he felt Azure getting a little frustrated about the bronze coming along.
After a few more minutes of walking and Azure staring at the Bronze, Murtur thought about asking questions but figured he would have plenty of time once they had reached his house. A few more minutes would pass and Murtur, Azure, the rider, and the bronze would arrive at his house. "Here we are sir. My dad should still be in his shop. Come in.. I'll take you to him.." Murtur would say as he looked toward the rider. Murtur would proceed to look at the Bronze as he began to talk to him. "You can make your way around the house if you would like. You'll be able to see inside the shop from there if you want to keep an eye on... umm... your rider." With a smile Murtur would then make his way inside his home.
His mother had gone to the market place and Murtur's sister seemed to have tagged along. Murtur would make his way directly to his father's shop, hopefully being followed by the rider. Once they arrived, Murtur's dad could be seen taking a rest from his work. "Hi dad. This is umm... a rider... and he requires your services..." Murtur's dad would stand up and walk up to the rider and extend his hand. "Hello. I'm Vrael. What can I do for you?

(Post is fail, but I don't want to put you off any longer.)
Well, the boy was enthusiastic, he had to give him that. Then again, most boys were more than happy to help a rider out, especially the ones with the bigger dragons. He didn’t exactly seem to be rider material, but the fact that Marth was taking a special interest in him seemed to be disproving his opinion. He might do well for a Blue, maybe, or a Green. Then again, dragons always liked to prove them wrong.
I think I will.[/i] Marth replied, speaking directly to Murtur as a test of sorts to see how he would react. In fun, he snorted at Azure almost in contempt for the little lizard before he left. As the Bronze limped his way around back, H’dan rolled his eyes and followed the boy into the shop. It didn’t seem like much, but he knew enough about metalwork to never judge a smith by sight alone.
“I am H’dan of Bronze Marth.” He told Vrael by way of introduction, gesturing to the great Bronze head that was visible nearby. “I need a sword and soon. I’m not looking for anything fancy just as long as the balance is good and the blade won’t break.” He told the smith.

I think I will.
Murtur looked around as he heard this voice which he hadn't heard at all the whole way to his home. After a few seconds of search, Murtur had rested his eyes on the bronze which was the only other thing that had been there. Murtur's eyes sparkled with fascination of the dragon once he set his mind and thought that it must have been the dragon which had spoken to him. Though Murtur had no clue how yet. Before the Bronze limped off, he snorted at the flitt who then hid in the contents of Murtur's hair.
It would take only around a second for the rider and Murtur to make it into Murtur's father's shop in which Vrael, Murtur's dad, introduced himself and got the reply from the rider. “I am H’dan of Bronze Marth." H'dan made a gesture toward the window in which the bronze was easily seen. “I need a sword and soon. I’m not looking for anything fancy just as long as the balance is good and the blade won’t break.”
"I understand H'dan. I'll get to work immediately." and with that Vrael was off to smithing. In preparation, Vrael took out multiple types of iron and steel which he planned to use for the sword of this rider. He planned to use wrought iron, which could take more damage than steel and was less brittle, for the spine of the blade, with extremely hard high-carbon steel forming the blade's edge. This would create highly impact-resistant blade with an extremely sharp edge. Vrael would make sure to let the rider know this as he began to make it just in case the rider had been wondering what he was doing to the weapon. The way Vrael saw it was that if H'dan was going to use it then H'dan had the right to know what was happening. Around a two hour time span would pass and questions that would be asked by Murtur during this time to H'dan would be; "How long have you had Marth for? Have you been in many battles? Did you win them? Do you have many subordinates? Is there something in particular you must do in order to receive the privilege of having a dragon?"
After questions had been asked and answers possibly received, Vrael finished up the task he had been accomplishing and turned to H'dan in order to give him his new sword. "Is there anything else you would like H'dan of Bronze Marth?" Vrael would say looking at Marth when he said his name. With that, Vrael would hold the sword horizontally, offering the blade to the rider. Vrael then waited for the reply of the rider H'dan.

While he was watching the smith work in deep interest (He'd been one himself at one point, if only an apprentice. He preferred working with jewelery, to be honest.), he found himself answering quite a few of Murtur's questions. He didn't blame the boy for asking, because he probably would have done the same thing himself when he was a lad. He wasn't annoyed, either, due to his immense amount of patience and partially by Marth's prodding. What was up with that dragon...?
"Hmm... I believe it's been about thirteen turns since I Impressed Marth now. He was the only Bronze in the clutch and too worried about his hide to Impress until one of his clutchbrothers started stumbling about and killing candidates in his clumsiness." He shot the Bronze a look and the dragon rumbled his amusement. "As for how many fights we've been in, that I can't put a number on, but we've won most of them." When Murtur commented about him having many subordinates, he couldn't help but laugh. "Not really. I may be Wingleader, but that's a far cry from Weyrleader. We'll see what happens when the new Queen Rises." He tried to keep that thought from occupying his attention too much, but he couldn't help it, not when his hopes rode on it. He cocked a brow when the boy mentioned Impression. He didn't know how close he was to possibly standing. "To Impress? All you need is to be Searched. After that... well, you have to please the dragons. They're the ones who choose, after all."
Before he could say anything else, Vrael handed him the sword. He took it gratefully, testing the weapon's balance. "It's a fine blade, best I've had in turns." He commented.
You need one more thing. Marth reminded him, sounding rather smug.
Fine... H'dan muttered before turning his attention back to Vrael. "I require one more thing. At Marth's request, I request your permission to bring your son back to Southern Weyr as a candidate."

Having answered all of Murtur's questions, H'dan would recieve the sword from Vrael. Vrael and Murtur watched as the rider H'dan took the blade and tested it's balance before speaking. "It's a fine blade, best I've had in turns." A smile would appear on Vrael's face as he heard that H'dan liked the sword. Vrael would wait to see if H'dan needed anything else. H'dan would turn his attention toward Marth for a second before turning back toward Vrael to ask him a question.
"I require one more thing. At Marth's request, I request your permission to bring your son back to Southern Weyr as a candidate." Murtur's eyes would open up as he heard this. His body would surge with excitment as he awaited his father's response. Vrael seemed to be deep in thought as he pondered the request of the dragon. After only about a few seconds it seemed that his dad had made up his mind. Though Vrael knew that he would have to hire someone if he said yes, Vrael also thought about how much more help Murtur would be as a rider if he could do this impress thing that H'dan had spoken of earlier. "Yes... You have my permission to take my son back to the Southern Weyr as a candidate." Vrael would then turn and whisper to his son. "Don't worry about your mother. I'll let her know. Good luck Murtur." Murtur would now speak up, excitment coursing through his body, "So does this mean that I have been 'searched'? Does this mean I might get a dragon?" Murtur would ask with a puzzled yet excited look on his face.

(Note to Edward: PAST TENSE PLEASE! =3)
H'dan let out the breath he hadn't known he was holding when Vrael agreed to allow him to take the boy back to Southern. He'd been expecting something much more... well, negative and probably more violent at the mention. Then again, the boy was rather excited about the whole thing which tended to make he parent's decision easier even if some children who were searched left anyway. Those were the rebellious ones who sometimes caused trouble, though he doubted this boy would cause any. He'd probably be a Bluerider, Brown at best, though dragons had a tendency to prove them all wrong on a daily basis just as Marth had when he passed over all the favorites to Impress him.
I liked you best. The Bronze shrugged as he cleaned the dirt from a claw. Honestly, humans always forgot that the dragons chose who they wanted, not who people wanted them to want.
Chuckling, he turned his attention to the now excited candidate. "Yes, you have, but this is the easy part. You've caught the attention of a dragon out of the egg, now you have to impress one within the egg." He replied with a smile, though he hoped his words would help to keep the boy from getting too excited. He might Impress right away or not at all. It just depended on the dragons. "Go gather some clothes and some things you want to bring and meet me in the main courtyard in ten minuets." He instructed the boy as he headed back the way he came while buckling the sword to his belt. Well, at least Isiloth would be pleased that there was another candidate for her still pending clutch.

"Yes, you have, but this is the easy part. You've caught the attention of a dragon out of the egg, now you have to impress one within the egg." said H'dan after Murtur's father had accepted Marth's request.
"That actually sounds pretty hard..." replied Murtur, his head hanging low, "but I know that I can do it!" continued Murtur staring at H'dan with a look of determination.
"Go gather some clothes and some things you want to bring and meet me in the main courtyard in ten minuets." was the last thing H'dan said before he left.
Murtur scurried off to his room on order to pack clothes as H'dan had said. After searching his room, Murtur decided only to bring clothes with him as he really didn't have anything else that he needed to bring. With what he had on him currently and what he had packed, Murtur had made his way to meet up with H'dan. After a while of making his way to the main courtyard, Murtur had easily found H'dan and made his way toward him.
"I'm ready whenever you are H'dan sir," said Murtur looking at H'dan, "Bronze Marth" continued Murtur this time looking at Marth.
