| Northern Weyr |
| Weyrbowl
One end of Northern's Weyrbowl is a large lake that is fed from underground springs so that it remains above freezing most of the turn. The rest of the Weyr bowl is covered in flatted grass and dirt spots from centuries of dragons coming and going.

| Weyr Cliffs
The Weyr cliffs house the upper levels of the Weyr. Down near the floor of the cliffs you will find the larger, roomier gold and bronze weyrs, near the middle are the brown weyrs and at the top the green and blue weyrs. At the very top is the fireheights where the dragons sun themselves and firestone is kept.

| Lower Caverns
Northern's Lower Caverns are a honeycomb of caves, caverns and living quarters for the weyrfolk. As the population has dwindled over the years, several of the caves and tunnels have been forgotten. Be wary of tunnelsnakes and getting lost.

| Hatching Grounds
The Hatching Ground at Northern is very showy. The spectators sit in an upper deck that overlooks the sands. Candidates enter by way of a tunnel directly underneath the deck. The Cavern itself is huge and can easily fit four large queens and their clutches.

| Weyrling Caverns
In a corner of the Weyrbowl, away from the hustle and bustle of the Weyr, is a series of large caverns that have been sectioned off for the Weyrlings. Kept seperate from the rest of the Weyr, this remoteness allows newly Impressed youngsters to bond more firmly with their dragonets.

| Northern Skies
The Northern Skies encompass all the skies North of the ocean. Flights, battles and patrols take place in the vast region. Most Southern spies/patrols will be found in the skies in and around Ista, Igen or Southern Boll.

| Southern Weyr |
| Weyr Plateau
The Weyr Plateau stretches out into the ocean, surrounded by water on three sides. A lake cuts off the fourth side so that the plateau has no natural exit. The plateau serves as weyrbowl, feeding grounds and fireheights for the dragons.

| Cavern Complex
Since the Weyr lacks a natural Weyr complex, allowances had to be made. There are caves and tunnels in the cliff wall but no natural weyrs. The caverns house the human population of Southern Weyr since the dragons have to sleep outside.

| The Beach
Stretching for dragon lengths all around the Weyr is acres and acres of pristine white sand beaches, crystalline blue waters and deep black coves. Besides a few docks for boats, a couple of wooden houses for stubborn riders and a few large boulders the beaches are usually full of sleeping sunning dragons.

| Hatching Grounds
Situated in a small extinct volcano, Southern's Hatching Grounds are hardly grand. A large pit of hot sand, surrounded by a wooden boardwalk, is all that Southern has. There are two wooden stands for spectators to sit on though, which is usually all that is needed.

| Weyrling Barracks
The Weyrling Barracks at Southern Weyr are just around the corner from the main Weyr's beach. Three very large buildings sit beside a cavern entrance. Close to the lake, close to a herd of beasts, the barracks are as far away from the Weyr as possible.

So you don't want to visit the Weyr but you want to stay in the North? Here is where you will find everything not related to Weyr life. From Fort Hold, to Ruatha Hold to Southern Boll and everywhere in between.

| Southern Continent
From Garon's deep mine holds to Lidal's just as deep fisher holds, Southern Continent spans a large area of lush jungles, fertile plains and warm climates. It is the perfect place for dragons and yet completely ruled by Overholder Lidal Hallek.

| Benden College
The once proud Benden Weyr has now become Benden College. Fort Hold grew to big to house the College and so it moved itself to Benden where it has plenty of room to grow. While it does accept Southern students by far and away the majority of it's students are Northerners.

| Telgar Hold
The largest hold in our Pern, Telgar has a great view of its' southern valley. One of the wealthiest holds on Pern, it does not tithe to the Weyr. The Smithcrafthall is housed here, as well as the Halls for other industrial crafts and the newly built Wherhold.
