Her. On the delicious looking runner. Go!, the dragon ordered her rider. "Siten feed her the firestone one at a time", he ordered one of the girl's. Regryth would tell her what she was doing wrong if it was needed. Weyr rules that the dragon be ready to flame before they left the ground. It wouldn'tt ake much to get Regryth better, she was a good flamer. I'tel used his long legs to catch up to the slow moving runner, catching the mare by her head. "You", he told the girl, looking up at her, "need to come with me for a moment. Someone will hold the runner", he told her, waiting for her to dismount. As a rider his authority was nearl absolute. The Overholder gave his riders the right to do what they needed when they needed to. I'tel exercised that right now despite her being nobleblooded.

[/b] ldessmor sighed impatiently as her runner made slow progress through the crowds of people that were making their way towards the dragon. From what she could see from her vantage point, she could see that she was the only person heading in the opposite direction, while everybody else was gravitating towards the dragon and it’s rider.A[/b] s the slow progress continued, Ildessmor considered getting off her runner and leading the animal through the crowds herself. She discarded the idea immediately, deciding that the crowds were more likely to part if they saw a huge runner heading their way rather than a mere girl. She was considering galloping through the crowds, but her father would probably give her hell for it afterwards.H[/b] owever, the situation was so frustrating that she was just about to kick the runner to a gallop when the halter of her runner was grasped by somebody. Throughly annoyed now, Ildessmor glanced over at the person who had dared to touch her runner. The clothing that he was wearing was quite unfamiliar, but that did not excuse him for what he was doing.S[/b] he was about to reprimand him severely for daring to touch her runner when she heard what he was saying. You need to come with me for a moment,. Raising an eyebrow, she considered her options. What she should do, she wondered. She could have him arrested for putting his hands on her runner, she was well known as the daughter of a wealthy merchant around here.M[/b] aybe this man didn’t know any better though, she thought, trying to figure out what was going on. Judging from his clothes, he was not from around here, therefore he would not know who she was. Deciding to give him the benefit of the doubt, she asked”And why exactly should I?” she asked, halting her runner for the briefest of moments.W[/b] ho exactly was this man? He came around ordering her about, not caring that he could be arrested for what he was doing right now. She had to give it to him though, he did have guts. However, she still wondered who he was. "First, please remove your hands from my runner," she said, glancing at him. "Second, who are you?[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote][/font]

Kyrsin was a bit surprised when the rider took her bag before the other girl's, and even more surprised that he threw her bag down before retrieving it to tie it on. She wasn't sure of what riders were like-she just knew that their authority over Pern was one of the highest, and that she would never wish to upset or disrespect one. Still, she found herself looking at him with curiosity, though she tried not to let it show too much. She murmured, "thank you," after he'd tied her bag to the green, and then, to the dragon, "thank you, as well," unsure if she shouldn't thank it, too.
She knew that if she hesitated, she'd never make it atop the green dragon. She didn't say, but drudges didn't get to ride runners. So, for her, this would be a wholly new and rather intimidating experience. She tried to remember when she was a lot younger, and had been allowed to ride on one once or twice. But that had been so long ago, that she merely shook her head at the thought. I can do this...she told herself, and then, besides, I would rather die than sit in the back! Realizing this, she moved more assuredly, and, taking a deep breath, she mounted the dragon as best she could. Still, she was clumsy and blushed furiously when she nearly slipped, muttering a "sorry" at the green, and finally getting into the straps that would be right behind the rider's. There, this isn't so bad, now is it? Not that she's moving yet...
Suddenly she saw the greenrider take off after some blond girl on a runner, and she found herself sitting up higher to see what on Pern was going on. She looks like a noble...she surmised, feeling even more plain than before. That girl was the furthest thing from any of the three, including herself, that the rider had searched. Will he search her now, too? Just when I thought things could get no more odd...
She was quite glad for Cask, who stuck by her, the young firelizard's claws digging lightly into the thin shirt, as he was curled up underneath her hair, tail around her neck. She was wearing a jacket, having had one and being told that 'between' was very cold. The firelizard was beneath that, too, the fur ruff on it covering the creature, which was only a couple of sevendays old. She didn't worry he would freeze, like a young dragon might, since firelizards could fly and between upon hatching. Still, he was there for comfort. She watched the greenrider in the nearby distance, noting that the girl was looking at him as though he ought not to be there. Nobles. They were all alike in some ways.

Siten watched the rider dart off after the girl on the runner for a moment, blinking in quiet surprise. Then, his words sunk in to her head and she ripped her attention away. There was a task at hand, after all. Siten unbound herself from the straps and slithered off the dragon's neck, picking up the bag. For a moment, she was startled by its weight--it was heavier than she'd anticipated. Shaking that off, she righted it, set it down, and rested it against her leg, then attempted to emulate what the greenrider had been doing to feed her, one stone at a time and with a rather remarkable amount of caution.
"You'll tell me when it's enough, won't you?" she asked the dragon mildly, more for something to say than out of any particular expectation of an answer. Dragons weren't stupid. The green, she was sure, was not about to hurt herself because some holdgirl didn't know how much firestone to give her. What would be the point of that, after all?

Regryth snorted at the girl but it seemed she didn't really require an answer, which was just as well because Regryth wasn't likely to give her one. She went on happily chewing her firestone, crunching the rock up with skill and ease before swallowing. Her idiot of a rider was off gallivanting after another girl, she wasn't jealous, and one was quite nervously sitting on her back. Regryth turned her head to eye the girl, even stuck her tongue out to see if she could make the girl squeak. Making them squeak was fun.
I'tel looked up at the rider and shook his head. He fingered his shoulder knots with his free hand, "I am rider I'tel dear, on green Regryth officially on Search under orders of the OverHolder and Weyrleader R'lyn for a clutch on the Sands at Southern", that should be enough to shut her up, he decided. And prove he had more authority and power than she did. Afterall his authority came from a dragon and the OverHolder. "My dragon wants to have a look at you, so dismount and cooperate or you will be forcibly dismounted. Either way my dragon wants to look at you", he informed her calmly, hand still holding the reins of the runner.

[/b] ldessmor hesitated for a moment on her saddle, trying to decide what to do. If she dismounted and if she was approved, there was no way she could stay in this hold. She would be sent off to the wryr to see if she could make an impression on a dragon. She honestly didn’t want to leave everything she knew behind, after all, she had quite a comfortable life up to now.G[/b] lancing over her shoulder, she took a look at the dragon who was crunching away at something. Was there any possible way she could escape? However, a thought entered her mind before she could act, one that made her do a double take on the situation. If she impressed a dragon, nothing her father did could prevent her from learning. Sure, she might have to learn sword fighting and all that, but she would certainly learn other things too, wouldn’t she?L[/b] ooking back at the man who had called himself I’tel, she sized him up for a moment. ”Excuse me, fair sir, I did not recognize who you were.” she said, allowing sarcasm to enter her voice. ”Please forgive my mistake.” she said, giving him a quick nod.G[/b] lancing back at her surroundings, she saw a stable boy running among the crowd. Calling out to him, she motioned for him to come foward. ”You are to stay here and watch my runner for a moment.” she said. Handing him her reins, she quickly dismounted her runner, her slipper clad feet showing for a moment underneath her dress. Turning to face I’tel, she nodded.
