Name: T’rell (Therrell) Rank: Wingrider, Bluerider Age: 32 Gender: Male Sexual Preference: Bisexual Wing:
Give Us A Portrait
Appearance: He is a tall man, standing at 6’ 2” with a broad chest and broad shoulders. His body is solidly built, like a tree trunk he will not fall easily. He might look imposing, but once you see those laughingly bright green eyes of his, you see that he is just a goof. His face is square-shaped, having a strong jaw and a roman-nose. His brows are thin and a pale chestnut in color, synonymous with his curly head of hair, glinting gold in the sunlight. Various scars are scattered across his body, from his shins, to his hands, to his arms, to his shoulders, there is not one part of him that isn’t marred by the hardness of life. Scars acquired from brawls and roughhousing in his youth, training as a weyrling, and from the aerial fights and handling of firestone. He moves quickly despite his size, a bit of an anomaly that cannot be explained aside from perhaps he has so much muscle. His clothing is loose and brightly colored matching his friendly personality.
Personality: High-energy, low maintenance. T’rell can easily be summed up with those words and those alone. He has always been a get-up and go person, ever since he was young. There was hardly much he needed, except a good cleaning regularly and a reminder to eat. He is the type to forget because he tries to keep himself as busy as possible. T’rell isn’t very funny, his jokes are corny and overused and his sarcasm is often silly just because it sounds wrong or poorly used. He is a jester of his own accord and though he likes a good laugh, he does not like to be laughed at. T’rell has a bird-brain, you could tell him something one minute and he’d just as soon forget it. He needs repetition for things to stick and that is always a plus. Repetition can annoy people, but for him, he needs it. It was the only way he was able to remember drills as a weyrling and how to make and keep his gear in top condition. T’rell is one of those people with whom it takes an awful lot to anger. Surely, though, once you have angered him, he will not let you go until you have faced up to him and his fury. He is not one for violence. He prefers to use words to fists. Likewise, the whole weyr wars are not his thing. He thinks it’s a noble thing, but he wishes there was some other way than to fight dragon to dragon. Though let it be said that if he and his dragon are threatened, he’ll do anything, and if his fellow riders are endangered, he’d stop at nothing to see that they come home with him.
History: T’rell was born with the name Therrell, the son of a tried and true bluerider, R’lion (Rellion) of Guillith, and crèche worker Therese. He was a big, heavy baby, healthy and bright-eyed and terribly noisy. He was very lucky to have a mother who doubled as a crèche worker, it allowed him to always be with her, be with his friends, and know his father. He was four years old when he became an older brother and truth be told it had little affect on him to start off with. There were so many children in the crèche that for all he knew, they could all be his siblings and it would make no difference. Therrell eventually came to be the kind of child who admired his father like he was a kind of God, wanting to be just like him in everyway possible and wanting not anything else but to have that special unique connection. He would play games with his friends and younger sister in which he’d save her by riding a great blue dragon, ‘like daddy’ he’d declare.
Therrell was searched when he was thirteen, a great excitement for him and great pride for his father for him to be searched so young. It was a grand thing and it was perhaps part of the best turns of his life thus far. It only got better when the clutch he had been searched for hatched and he impressed a blue dragon at 15 turns. The way the blue tumbled out of his shell and laid there had cast a ripple in his heart that then hardened and stuck fast. Zurith had been so small then, almost a bit of a runty blue that any voracious creature would find tasty, but for Therrell, he was perfect. That first meal, his first bath, their first lesson, the first oiling, their first straps… and on and on. T’rell treasured them all and it would have seemed perfect expect for one thing: the death of his father and his Guillith. That day had struck T’rell heavy and made him cold, only Zurith brought him back to be warm and bubbly again. It was a hard thing for him to accept that he’d not fly with his father, but T’rell persevered and graduated to his first wing.
He reached manhood, they won greenflights, foolishly chased golds, and for T’rell, there was no greater friend than his own Zurith. He would have pleased his mother greatly if he could settle down, but T’rell was never ordinary. He strived for the extraordinary and such things could be found in men and women alike. It allowed for Zurith to fly any green he liked and it was no bother to him or anyone else. It was an accepted truth and T’rell enjoyed it as much as anyone else like himself. Now of course, settling down seems senseless. There is too much at stake, one never knows if they’ll return from the sky of battle or not. T’rell wouldn’t stake anything on it, he’s quite happy being a bachelor and having his ménages as they come. Besides, one should life for each day, not just for tomorrow. -Parents: R’lion, wing/bluerider of Guillith, deceased and Therese, crèche worker, 61 -Siblings: Resili, JourneywomanWeaver, 29 -Firelizards: None
V.I.D. Name: Zurith Color: Blue
Appearance: He is your average blue in height and length, even his wingspan is average. In this aspect, his shadow looks alike to every other, but it his coloring that tends to set him apart. He is a very dark midnight blue dragon with a great amount of pale dappling all over his body. He has streaks of pastel blue along his back and down his nose which distinguishes himself as Zurith. His tail is covered in slash and burn scars, his haunches have a smattering of them and there is a single claw mark that runs from below his eye, parallel to his jaw, straight to his nose. Such marks are worn with pride and he stands tall amongst his wing.
Personality: Zurith is a shy blue, soft-spoken and kind. One would not think that he is a true fighting dragon. He has not the bloodlust of many of the others, nor the passion for the spirit. Instead, Zurith is the kind of dragon who fights fiercest only when his rider is in danger, otherwise he is evasive, quick, and not likely to strike far too deadly. He likes to laze about in the sun, feel the cool lake water in the summer, and bask in the love and affection of his chosen. If it were up to him, he would not fight at all, but it is his duty to answer the call of his betters and see to the safety of his rider.
History: Zurith was almost expelled from his shell. He had put so much force into breaking through his egg that he fell out tumbling head over claw and sprawling out on his back. His wings spread out on the sand were wet and sticky and sand clung to the wings irritatingly so. As he lay there, drying out, he saw figures of strange shape and bright white colors. The world he saw was first seen upside-down and even in that frame of vision he found one whose image cast a ripple in the still of his heart. It was then that he found Therrell and made him T’rell when he righted himself, shook the sand from his body and approached him.
Zurith was small, but quick to grow and matured early. When the first green in their weyrling group rose, he was the first to understand the primeval urge to chase her. He was not always successful, but it was fair to say that he caught his share. He adored his T’rell and quietly obeyed in their lessons and graduated happily into a proud and brave wing of their own. He was not the fiercest fighter, but whenever another dragon tried to take his rider, he changed into another beast. Zurith protected T’rell fiercely and even if he got injured by a claw to the face or a tear to his wing, he’d not stop. His injuries were never enough to hold him back, he always rose back to the skies with his rider on his back.

Name: Kaelu Rank: Candidate Age: 17 turns Gender: Female Sexual Preference: Heterosexual Wing: None
Give Us A Portrait
Appearance: Kaelu is a wiry thing. She stands at a tall and proud 5’ 8”, most of it achieved by her length of leg and torso. She has angular features, none of which are softened to any fine degree by her womanhood. Aside from her breasts, hips, and buttocks, the rest of her is straight muscle and bony joints. Her face is crowned by ebony locks, straight as a pin in an angled bob cut about her head. Her bangs are of equal length, short and wispy over her high arching, expressive eyebrows. Her eyes are a vibrant forest green, lush as the evergreen forests of the mountains, ringed in an earthy brown and streaked with flecks of gold. They are a perfect almond shape and sit nicely over her little nose that ends sharply over her thin lips. Kaelu’s complexion is darker than most, a sort of bronze coloring like an eternal tan that never fades. She has a shapely neck, small shoulders, and adept arms that are as strong as any man’s. She is thin, yes, but she is all lean muscle, the sporty type of woman who works hard and lets others know it not only through her personality but through her rough and tumble physique as well. Her knees and elbows are scabby, her hands calloused and hard, and her feet rough, but sure. Her clothes are tight-fitting, but suit her and her needs.
Personality: She is one of those types who is an alpha in the room. She doesn’t walk around like she owns the place, but she does have the presence of getting people’s attention easily. Perhaps it is because she is loud, her voice caroling and echoing no matter where she is. Or maybe it is simply because she does not like being ignored. She is dramatic at times, going to the extreme to be sure that something is accomplished, especially if it is important not only for her, but for others. Indeed, though she likes attention, she gives attention to all and any who require it of her. Kaelu is a devoted person; devoted to herself, her family, her friends, her weyr, absolute and total devotion. She is also devoted to her work, proud of all she does and accomplishes. Her pride is her downfall, just like the loudness of her voice and presence. It is what makes her devotion seem like a curse. She knows when to hold her tongue and has the respect for others that is considered common courtesy. Her emotions might run away with her if she lets them get ahead of her, but she will also recover it with a smile and a hearty laugh that comes with her good sense of humor. She isn’t a cynic, she’s open-minded, and she’s a generally good person.
History: Kaelu was born the middle child to a pair of harpers who were married because of convenience, not love. She was the first daughter they had, but the middle child none the less and in a family of five it is difficult to get anything in word-wise. She was the one who became a child of lungs, talking loudly and bravely and making herself heard, sometimes screaming if it meant getting a least one pair of eyes on her. It was a trait that was developed as a toddler and was to stay with her for the rest of her life. Kaelu was very energetic and a bit of a tomboy, truth be told. She raced after her brothers if not to play a racing game with them, but to keep up with them so as not to get lost or left behind. She played rough, took the bruises with the scratches and nursed them herself, not crying so that her brothers didn’t make fun of her. Though when her younger brothers grew older and her sisters needed tending, her nurturing side shone through. She played with them, got them to eat, and made sure that they didn’t get spoiled. No candies or sweetmeats before supper, wash up and learn your letters. Kaelu was a sport. However she managed to be a sisterly tomboy with rough housing brothers and two doll-like sisters even she couldn’t say without giving a shrug. She entered her teenage years with little much hope than to start all her lessons right, learn her chords, and eventually decide as to which trade she wished to pursue. There were so many and it was hard to decide. Harper like her parents, healer because they liked girls, beasts and farmer for the outdoors, weaver and tailor for the cloth, and on and on until she got dizzy with it all. Of course, times are quickly becoming dangerous with North and South quickly becoming enemies and being at odds more and more often. Kaelu didn’t know it then, but she had a place waiting for her in the fight. It was not exactly what she would have asked for, but it would be the hand dealt to her. She was going to be searched to stand as a candidate.
