...R'ker had a point. Kirnin hadn't thought of that. For a moment, she was almost ashamed of herself for not thinking of it, but, then again, she supposed it was, in no small part, because she'd anticipated that, after the hatching, it would be expected of the Weyrlings that they conduct themselves like... well, like Weyrlings ought to. Like adults, if sometimes very small ones (and she paused in her thoughts here to spare a sidelong glance at Nyboka, who always made her feel just a little bit better about her own height). Adults didn't need that kind of babysitting. They weren't, all, though, were they? T'van, with the forlorn expression of loss on his face over Eris's orders, rather proved that succinctly, didn't he?
Oh, dear. She wondered if he'd thought about that, yet. It would be quite a while before he'd be able to go back to indulging his womanizing. She was not looking forward to the fireworks that would ensue when he realized that one.
Ph'in's announcement of punishment for R'ker, as well, ruffled her figurative feathers more than a little, but she prudently held her peace. She could always speak with him later and thank him for pointing it out. It had needed to be said.
T'van was every bit as forlorn as he looked, too, though he was confident he'd kept it under wraps. None of the other girls were showing nearly so much skin, and he had really very much been enjoying the view.
R'ker's comment, though, did finally strike home, and T'van suddenly thought he was going to choke. Shardit! He hadn't thought of that!
...Gah.
Well, so much for riding a dragon to impress the girls. He wouldn't be doing anything with the girls for a while, now. The lamentation in his expression deepened as his focus shifted, and he settled back, brow furrowed, to mourn the loss of his favourite passtime.
