"I won't sing if you don't. It's supposed to be a duet Farran not a solo", she rolled her eyes and climbed to her feet, dusting her clothing off. "As for your lessons", she gave him a wicked smile, "You aren't in Benden at the moment and your father isn't here. Why don't we go find a game of dragon poker somewhere in the hold? We can ride out to the Hall and see what Harpers are playing tonight", she smiled at him before walking towards Tam. She righted the mare's bridle, digging grass out of the corner of the runner's mouth before remounting.
"Besides the only lessons you need to be taking right now are your Harper lessons", she glared down at him over her aristocratic nose, "I could make it an order I suppose then you wouldn't have to feel so bad about missing lessons. You are currently my escort so you have to be wherever I am", she mused. Del was an expert at getting out of orders though she rarely avoided the punishment that caused.

"I don't feel bad," he replied with a sly smile. "I've been finding every opportunity to bypass my father's whimseys I could for the past twenty years. I don't see where it should start to bother me, now." Rising and brushing off, he walked over to collect the unnamed stallion, rubbing a hand down the runner's side.
"Del... I don't sing as well as you do. You've one of the most beautiful voices at the Hall. I... don't." He shrugged, patting the beast's flank, and shook his head. "Nevermind. We'll figure it out." Turning around, he flashed her a brilliant smile.

She shook her head, "It doesn't matter if you can sing as well as me or not. This is our song", she pointed at him and then her to emphasize the our part of the sentence. "And I don't care if you can't sing or not", she added, turning Tam in a circle since the mare was fidgeting with ready to be home. It was close to dinner time for the mare and she was getting antsy about being away from home. "If we take our time, we'll miss dinner which means we'll miss my mother and the rest of my siblings", she added, starting Tam back down the trail they had ridden awhile ago.
Her mother was probably going to berate her for her lack of manners in front of the MasterHarper as well as running away with her betrothed. Her mother might raise her snooty nose about it but Del full knew most babies in the hold were conceived prior to their parents' wedding. When people got bored on the farm, especially with no Harpers near by and in winter, they kept themselves occupied.

Farran smiled brightly at her and pulled himself up onto the stallion, letting his mind rove as they rode. There were any number of delightful things that they could have been doing while they were out, and he couldn't help but wonder if he mightn't get to try one, one of these days, very soon, with the all-too-lovely Del.
Speaking of, he took the opportunity of their ride to take a good, long look at her. She really was remarkably beautiful, far more so than most of the women he had dallied with in the past. It was no small opportunity he found himself in, and for more than just her talent and breeding, though he would never doubt his fortune in the find that she was in those regards, either.
