"Alright, dearheart, bathtime!" The blonde man grinned, giving his green an affectionate slap on the shoulder. An amused rumble followed as the small, dark green dragon slipped forward and into the ocean, turning her head to wait for her rider once she was deep enough.
R'ler took a moment to pick up his washing supplies, which were all in a worn bucket for convienience, before splashing out into the calm, warm waters after Sunath. A quick, wet scramble up to the green's back, and soon he was perched carefully between her wings. "Alright, go ahead and take a quick dunk so I can get washing, love."
~Alright, Mine.~ Came his beloved dragon's soft reply, even as she sank further down in the water to dampen her hide. As soon as she lifted up again, R'ler pulled out the scrub-brush and sweetsand, getting to work on washing her down.
Sunath gave a happy sigh, the first of her three eyelids closing as she relaxed. It was times like this that the pair cherished... just the two of them, spending time together and enjoying each other's presence.
R'ler smiled as he felt, both under him and in his mind, his partner relax. Really, Sunath had been worrying too much lately, at all of the changes the Weyr was going through. They would be fine, it's not as if anyone paid any attention to the greens and their riders anyways, except when a green was about to rise, and Sunath was still a few weeks away from her time. "Don't worry Dearheart, everything will work out for the best. You'll see. And just think, soon there will be little baby dragons toddling about!"
~... I do like the little dragonets.~ She admitted, brightening up a little. They were so adorable and fun to snuggle with! And it was nice, not being one of the smallest dragons in the Weyr... for a little while, at least.
"I know you do, love. Maybe we could even volunteer as assistant Weyrlingmasters, since we've been so bored lately." He grinned over at his green from where he was starting on one of her wings. "After all, I wouldn't put it past Isiloth to have a HUGE clutch! Just to surprise us all!"
~... You've been betting again, haven't you?~
"... Maaaaaybe."
~Mine!~ R'ler had to laugh at the scandalized, scolding tone in his beloved green's mental voice. And so it went, R'ler scrubbing Sunath down while the two engaged in idle gossip about the Weyr.
