[/color][/url]The Weyrs are empty, gone to the future, but whose future have they met? When the Oldtimers went to the future, they met a different Benden, a different world, than exists for Veraalo. Set during an alternate 9th Pass, Benden Weyr suffers alone. Lessa's trip to the past moved onward, to another 9th pass merely parallel to our own. Under the strain to protect the West, Benden gave in to the demands of an ambitious queenrider who set herself out for the remnants of Telgar Weyr. Renamed and renovated from the time when it was crushed, and with the first clutch resting on the new Weyr's sands, the new Weyr has a lot of kinks to work out. When the Weyrleader pair aren't trying to kill each other, the Holds are causing riots. They haven't fed a Weyr in too long, and many aren't willing to begin producing the extra output required.[/font]
After all, the Holds have gone unprotected for too long and their fields and beast populations are suffering as much as the people. The Holds feel no need to take care of the people who abandoned them, who cannot even survive on their own.
Veraalo Weyr must take on the workload of what formerly was three Weyrs, with a limited population and even more so limited stock of food. They risk starving out and dying under the strain.
Will the Weyr survive, or will it crumble?

Veraalo Weyr is a semi-to-noncanon Dragonriders of Pern roleplay. We are based in the 9th Pass of Pern, in a world where Lessa has never returned and a new plan of action had to be made. We do not have AIVAS but instead have a Threadscored and unprotected Pern, with its Western half now being watched over by the most unfit of Weyrleaders and uncooperative Holders.
We need Lord and Lady holders desperately, and are going to be in constant need of candidates. We're accepting profiles for our current Jr. Weyrleader as well.
